A TRIP TO YIWU - Part 2
I wish Salam to everyone,
Since China is associated with panda bear, I would like to start this blog post with a quote from Kungfu Panda movie, 'Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift... that's why they call it present'.
Started my journey from Kuala Lumpur the night before yesterday. Yesterday morning was the journey from Shanghai to Yiwu. Besides went looking for food I didn't do much. Having travelled about 4000 km was too tiring. Halal dumplings can be motivational....Skadoosh !
Yiwu Trade City District 1 is located in front of the hotel, just across Chouzhou North Road. Definitely our first destination today will be District 1.
By the way, before I continue with the story, I want first to give you the description about Yiwu. Yiwu is dedicated as a shopping city, people coming to Yiwu is to visit Yiwu Wholesale Market also known as Futian Maket and also Trade City - they are one and the same place. People come here do shopping.
Its shopping center is about 4 million m2, consisting of 5 districts with each district has a specialization of products. They consist approximately 62,000 stores, 100,000 sellers and 400,000 kinds of products being sold. Yiwu Market operates from 9 am to 5 pm. Because of the extent, to move from one district to another district must ride a bus, if the walk is tiring. But do not worry! The city provides free shuttle bus service that operates until 4 pm.

A Visit To Yiwu #1
.
A TRIP TO YIWU - Part 1
I wish Salam to everyone,
I am writing about my visit to Yiwu. Like most people visiting Yiwu, we came here to buy the usual offerings Yiwu Wholesale Market has to offer. After many days of visiting the booths, we expect to be exposed to the latest goods in the market and business opportunities. Without giving away too much, we strongly suggest you to explore yourself Yiwu Wholesale Market. Let's be adventurous.
THE FIRST STEPS
We started our journey from our home in Ampang at around 8.00 p.m. It took us about 1 hour journey by car to KLIA2. Suggest you to take Grabcar from Kuala Lumpur, just MYR 73 with toll charges included.
On board Airasia X D7332, departure at 11.20 p.m.
5 and a half hour journey by flight and we finally landed in China.
Some people get to Yiwu via Hangzhou but we decided via Shanghai. From Shanghai we took a train to Yiwu with travel time about 2 hours. But to get on the train, we first need to get to Hongqiao Railway Station located some 50 km west of the Shanghai Pudong Airport.
1) From the airport, we took Maglev Transportation (journey time about 10 minutes) to Longyang Maglev Station.
2) We then get on Shanghai subway Line 2 from Longyang Metro Station to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station. The journey took about 1 hour. Once we reached Hongqiao Railway Station, we bought the train ticket to Yiwu.
The train journey to Yiwu about 2 hours. We finally reached Yiwu Train Station and we still need to get on a bus to Yiwu Trade City that take about 1 hour plus (depending on traffic jam).
It was quite an adventure just to get to Yiwu but I guess it would be faster and straight forward for Malaysians to take a direct flight to Hangzhou from Kuala Lumpur using Airasia. Otherwise take a connecting flight to Yiwu Airport from either Shanghai or Guangzhou. A lot simpler.
HOTEL
12 p.m
After what felt like a very long time, we arrived safely at the hotel. The hotel was Junhao Hotel located on Changchun Fifth Street. We checked into our rooms, the hotel rate was around 150元 per night.
